Abstract
Reflecting about the critical pedagogy proposed by Paulo Freire has been, in the last decades, an important contribution in the way of conceiving education and human being development. In the present research, which is still in progress, it is meant to interpret the cultural praxis of the group Luango from Venezuela and its influence from Freire’s critical pedagogy. The topic is approached from the qualitative paradigm, with a phenomenological view and, assuming as valid for developing such interpretation, the experiences of the main characters of the aforementioned musical team. In the interpretative context, LUANGO and its musical praxis arise like an effort to enhance the relationship between education and culture, at the time that it shows the musical patrimony of the country and recreate the method of coexistence with the popular creator to legitimate a conception of the culture less elitist and effectively releasing.
