Abstract

This study is an approach to some of the keys found in the literary tradition, especially in the novel, starting from its auto reference and its capacity to refer to problems and every day situations from the fictionalizing of its own paradigms and the situations that make it relevant. The analysis ofEduardo Liendo's novel, Los Platos de Diablo proposes this inquiry regarding the social place of the novel, since this work is built, from its plot and its references, on the basis of the literary tradition and very especially starting from an inquiry in the writer's ethical and crucial limits. But it is also an opportunity to enter the domains of the black novel because the plot isconstructed as a police story. This work is supported by the contributions of literary theory, especially on Mijail Bajtín's work, as well as the critical vision of essayists and novelists like Paz, Fuentes and Kundera.
