Abstract

Being a teacher requires of cognitive competences, knowledge, conceptual contents, ethical principles and well-grounded values. To look for specific features of his/her personality could determine his/her way of behaving and the career to be chosen. To analyze the meaning of “being a teacher” in relation to the subconscious content related to his/her family and particular events, would provide valuable contributions regarding his/her conduct. Information about these events attached to a subconscious level, would allow elaborating a profile of his/her personality. Information about family background is very important to reveal the mystery on the teacher´s psyche. Based on the Psychoanalytic Theory, specifically on Freud, Lacan and Jung, the purpose of this investigation is to expose how the subconscious contents are necessarily related to personal contents, attached to the psyche; among them we find values, roles, images, perceptions, and impressions, acquired during the human being development, specifically in teachers, summarizing teacher’s actions during their teaching practice.
