Abstract

This article presents the results of a descriptive field research which purpose was to determine the leadership and ethical values in the Commercial Education Program at UPEL - IPB. The subjects of study included 44 teachers and the coordinator of this unit. For data gathering, the technique used was the survey and two questionnaires with a Likert-type scale. Among the key findings of the study, it can be acknowledged that the coordination of the Commercial Education Program has a charismatic and laissez faire leadership style in the management performed, while most teachers practice ethical values while on duty. It can be concluded that there is a need to promote workshops on styles of democratic and group-centered leadership, and to strengthen management action in the Program through mechanisms of action approved by consensus.
